NotebookLM 101
A 4-week beginner-friendly introduction to Google NotebookLM — the AI research and thinking partner powered by Gemini. Learners go from zero to confidently uploading sources, generating Audio Overviews and study guides, and building their first personal knowledge notebook.
What you will be able to do
By the end of this 4-week class, learners will be able to (1) explain what NotebookLM is and when to use it vs. other AI tools, (2) create a notebook and ingest at least 5 source types (PDFs, web pages, YouTube videos, Google Docs, pasted text), (3) generate and tune NotebookLM Studio outputs — Audio Overview / podcast, Video Overview, Mind Map, Study Guide, Briefing Doc, FAQ, Timeline, Quiz, and Flashcards, (4) ground every answer in cited sources and verify with click-through citations, and (5) build one personal capstone notebook that turns a real document set into a usable knowledge product (e.g., study guide, onboarding kit, research brief, or podcast episode).
